It is where I fell in love and where I share good times with my family. My favorite time to paint and write on the Island is when September ends and the season begins to change. The end of summer is always bittersweet, leavened by the promise of return and the primacy of the cycles of life. I think I have captured that sense of wistful longing in this painting.”
